Nicki Ishmael spent the late 1990s and early 2000s with a camera in her hand, documenting the music, art, people, and culture around her in the scenes that thrived in Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and New York City.

To give these images new life, Nicki joined forces with her friend Craig. Though they hadn’t met when Nicki captured these photos, Craig’s life mirrored hers; he’d been in bands, lived loud, and immediately connected with her photographs. They realized that a collaboration could bring fresh meaning to the images, and decided to present them in a tangible form, something people could hold in their hands, hang on their walls, and live with every day.

The result is this limited-edition calendar: fourteen individual 11-by-17-inch posters, each featuring a vibrant image from Nicki’s past paired with a bold new graphic design by Craig. These calendars don’t just mark time; they transform Nicki’s photography into something alive again, carrying a shared sense of energy, memory, and motion into the present.
